Public Health

Dr. Gohar Ejaz has dedicated himself to advancing public health in Pakistan through innovative initiatives and unwavering commitment to the well-being of underserved communities. As Chairman of Jinnah Hospital and Allama Iqbal Medical College since 2019, Dr. Ejaz has spearheaded numerous transformative projects aimed at improving healthcare access and quality for vulnerable populations. His efforts reflect a deep understanding of the critical role public health plays in building a prosperous society.

A cornerstone of his contributions is the Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed Trust Dialysis Center, established at Jinnah Hospital in 2006. This state-of-the-art facility, equipped with 56 dialysis machines, conducts over 50,000 free dialysis sessions annually, providing life-saving care to thousands. Beyond dialysis services, Dr. Ejaz’s initiatives have extended to supporting remote healthcare needs, including the donation of medical equipment to underserved regions such as Kharan, Balochistan.
Dr. Ejaz’s philanthropic efforts through the Gohar Ejaz Foundation and the Lahore Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS) have further bolstered public health infrastructure. These organizations provide over 12 million free meals annually to hospital patients and attendants and have launched programs to combat hepatitis and other critical health challenges through mobile labs and free medical treatment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his leadership was instrumental in organizing relief efforts, ensuring the delivery of essential rations to over 100,000 families, and providing critical support to healthcare frontliners.
