APTMA COTTON FOUNDATION

Under the leadership of Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Patron-in-Chief of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), the APTMA Cotton Foundation (ACF) stands as a bold initiative to revitalize cotton farming in Pakistan. Designed as a model farming concept, ACF seeks to transform cotton production through innovative technologies and modern agricultural practices aimed at improving yields, enhancing crop quality, and ensuring sustainability.

Central to this initiative is the establishment of a state-of-the-art biotechnology laboratory for seed and soil testing. This facility will enable the development of advanced seed varieties tailored to Pakistan’s agricultural conditions. In addition to technological advancements, ACF places a strong emphasis on farmer education, offering technical training and introducing international best practices. These efforts are designed to empower farmers, improve productivity, and enhance the overall quality of cotton cultivation.
Dr. Ejaz’s leadership in launching ACF reflects a deep commitment to addressing the challenges facing Pakistan’s agriculture sector. By focusing on seed variety innovation, certified approval systems, farmer training programs, and actionable policy recommendations to the government, ACF is poised to have a transformative impact. This initiative aims to meet domestic cotton demand, reduce reliance on imports, alleviate poverty among farmers, and contribute to Pakistan’s export-led economic growth. Through ACF, Dr. Gohar Ejaz exemplifies forward-thinking leadership, addressing critical national priorities with a vision for sustainable progress.
